Quiz data

Quiz results and scores are processed in your browser. If you choose to submit your score to our leaderboard, your display name, country, score and timestamp are stored in our Firebase Realtime Database. We do not link this to any personally identifiable information.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email we send you. Your data will be permanently deleted from our mailing list within 30 days.

7. Firebase & Leaderboard

Our real-time leaderboard is powered by Google Firebase Realtime Database. Scores submitted to the leaderboard (display name, country, score, quiz name and timestamp) are stored on Firebase servers and are publicly visible on our leaderboard page. Do not use your real name as your display name if you prefer privacy.

Firebase’s privacy practices are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Data Retention

• Newsletter subscriber data: retained until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days
• Leaderboard scores: retained indefinitely as public quiz records
• Analytics data: retained for 26 months (Google Analytics default)
• Contact emails: retained for up to 2 years then deleted

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request we delete your personal data
